Using the WYSIWYG Editor

WYSIWYG
means What You See Is What You Get. The WYSIWYG editor opens when you add an announcement, edit the classroom page description, create a blog topic, add a webpage, etc.
  • It is a simplified text editor without many of the hidden features of Microsoft Word such as automatically correcting capitalization errors or changing the font style.
  • The School Fusion website provides a Plain/Simple Editor and an Advanced Editor with just a few more features such as text anchors, subscripts, and superscripts.
  • To view a key to the icons used with the editor, click here.

  • To view more instructions for the Plain Editor including numerous general tips and shortcuts, click here.
  • The WYSIWYG Advanced Editor also allows use of source code so HTML commands can be used if desired.  For more details on use of the Advanced Editor, click here.
In the WYSIWYG editor, it is possible to make links to any type of file.  See Linking Tips for help.

Adding Images.  To add images, use the image icon and upload a photo to the server.  Click here or on the video to see the step by step instructions.

It is recommended that Microsoft Word be used for composing text and then copied and pasted into the WYSIWYG Editor using the Word icon.  Click here for a PDF showing the steps or click on play to see the steps.
