What is a Fusion Page?

The company hosting the District Website is called School Fusion.  They have created a kind of webpage with specialized school features and called it a FusionPage. A FusionPage has the capability to have quizzes, homework, blogs, podcasts, and other features specialized to educational use.

There are a few different types of FusionPages. The most commonly used type is a Classroom FusionPage

  • A classroom page is automatically created every year for each class section taught by a teacher.
  • Information is taken from PowerSchool, and the class is created with each student in the class as a member of the class.
  • At the Middle School, each teacher will have several Classroom pages even if the teacher  teaches the same class all day.
  • It is easy to set up one class page and copy, or import, content into other class pages.

At the end of the school year, a classroom page is automatically saved, or archived, so that a teacher can reuse all the content the next year.  The archive feature is automatic and teachers need not worry about this, but teachers will need to follow a few steps to import content at the beginning of the next year.

Other types of FusionPages include Student Activity pages, Department pages, and Faculty/Staff pages.  Teachers will use these pages if they are an advisor or otherwise involved in extra activities.
